I am in my 19th year as an educator and during that time I have been an elementary teacher,
elementary assistant principal, middle school principal, mentor, and presenter.
I began my journey into teaching in central Florida, where I was a 3rd, 4th and 5th grade reading
teacher for four years. This was a wonderful experience for me as I was able to work with a
variety of students from diverse backgrounds. The experience enabled me to stretch myself in
order to meet the varied needs of my students. I continued teaching in the Monroe-Gregg School
District, spending 7 years as a 4th grade teacher, 3 years as the elementary assistant principal and
4 years as a middle school principal. I am currently the principal at Greencastle Middle School
and am loving the middle school life!
I earned my Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist degree from Indiana State University
and have used my experience and knowledge to work with educators, particularly administrators,
with a focus on creating a positive school culture. I also work with the Indiana Association of
School Principals as a mentor through their INALI program, which focuses on supporting first
and second year administrators.
I currently live in Monrovia, Indiana with my husband of 19 years, Mike, and our two sons, Jackson and Luke.
Both boys are actively involved in sports and clubs, which keeps us busy throughout the school year!
